This was never going to see the light of day realistically. How they managed to waste quite so much money ($62.7m) on it though i dont know.
i like the keyboard
will that appear before the rushian lcd one?
Rather unusual keyboard.
if they ever come back with a new improved idea il take 3
/end sarcasm
Seriously tho...even if they had produced these would they ever have made any money on them?
I'm sure *someone* made a lot of money out of it.. (about $62million?)

they ended up making a pc in a custom case. and it cost them all that to do it. the same could have been achieved by buying a shuttle or similar and putting steam on it.

Wasn't it simply an AMD Athlon 2500+ with about a gb of RAM? Hardly earthshattering, even at that time, so it's unsurprising they failed to make an impression...
hahaha I hope hardocp never do an article on me.... not that I have anything to hide.... *whistles*
Was anyone ever really looking forward to this?
Didn't one of the original xbox guys leave MS to go run this....... wow that must rank as one of the worst mistakes ever![]()
n, cause it was always just going to be a pc in a different box. and i think the guy who went to work there probably didnt do too badly out of the whole deal, and i doubt he was kept too busy..Originally Posted by jimmyjimmyo

The idea of distributing the software to its consoles over the web was a good idea, the hardware side of things unfortunately was a disaster. I am sure we will see this type of software distribution method creeping in more and more, especially with the next round of consoles (Xbox Arcade, Wii virtual console). Who knows what Sony has in store with the PS3 they have already stated that the next playstation (PS4?) will likely ship without any kind of optical storage.
I am amazed as to the amount of money that they managed to waste on this thing, doesn't Steam do this already???
It is just another Gizmondo but atleast that made it to retail.
I wonder how long before the lawsuits start
