I've never actually played it before, but it looks promising. (I know there are Sim City fans out there somewhere!)

Yes there are fans, and they are disappointed it doesn't like firefox.
SimCity Classic Live requires Windows 95/98 or Windows NT with either
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher
or
Netscape Communcator/Navigator 4.0 or higher.
Indeed. But it's better than nothing, it only takes a second to switch (or if you have IE Tab, less )
A bit more difficult on a mac. I would presume it needs ActiveX, thus the "Windows 95/98 or Windows NT" part. Don't have my PC with me currently, but I'll try it when I get back to school and take my PC out of storage.
Finally a use for IE
/me is addicted now.
EDIT: needs speed options

i got simcity 3000 then it wouldnt work i was gutted as i wantd to build such a great place!
I have simcity 3000 buried under a load of junk somewhere and simcity 4. 4 was pants in my opinion. that whole region thing didn't work.
I had some of the same feeling with 2000 and 3000. Inherently simple games are ok simple. You don't need an AI with super complicated rules and fance graphics to make a fun game. I found 3000 was very hard to have a long term happy, green, and wealthy population.
2000 was good as is the original. ive tried the new ones but couldnt get into them
2000 was probably the peak. It had the best balance between fun and complexity. Sim City is as stressful as actually being mayor
nahh, sim city for the SNES was the peak. not being able to drag yourself away from it even when its snowing outside? fantastic!
