Selling a PS3 to UK buyers

As I now live in Vancouver I have been thinking about buying a couple of PS3's and then selling them to folks in the UK via ebay or something as I can probably pre order a few of them myself here. I am fairly sure that the recent news about the european release date will help me out alot. I intend to buy myself a Wii though as it looks like a lot of fun, maybe my wife will try playing games then too.

iirc the ps3 isnt region coded? if thats the case, you wont be the only one doing it... (no i dont mean me, i refuse to give sony $)

2 be honest with the amount the PS3 is going to cost is there going to be any room for a mark up? especially with delivery costs i dont know too much about it but region coding dosnt sound too far fetched seeing as the PS1's had problems playing games from elsewhere - im sure ud find someone who wanted to buy but ud have to be careful about buying/selling prices to make it worthwhile

if it is region coded you could always get it chipped or something...maybe *shrugs* I dunno...

I think one of the key elements to all the new consoles is online play.

With the European launch of the PS3 delayed until March, importing a PS3 earlier than that doesn't seem worthwhile as the number of European users to play against online will be severely limited.

That said, I won't be getting one anytime soon as it's way too expensive.

I may well be tempted Wedge, I was looking at importing one anyway as I plan to eventually move out there and having the Canadian one just makes sense

Although given the reduced allocation, I don't know how easy it'll be for you to source them?

500quid is still a lot of money, could get a wii and upgrade for that

good idea, but many many others will try the same thing, and as has been said getting your hands on one will be hard..

BUT if you do manage it you will definitely sell some over here - there are plenty of people with lots more money than sense who will import one and pay a premium over the already stupidly high price of the PS3..just look at the money there was to be made on the XB360 - I would expect the margins to be even better for PS3

ud be suprised what ppl were paying for a 360 on ebay at its peak nigh on 500 quid if nopt more so u can defo make profit.

Well I think that I may still try and pre order myself 2 of them and 1 Wii which I will use myself. If I can get hold of them and it looks like folks want to buy them I will try and sell them.
