Making money is the name of the game. Lure the punters in and when hooked, jack up the price, it's call good business practice.
Deo Adjuvante non Timendum
Uhhh it's not real cash, it's just talking about having dynamic pricing for the weapons (bought using in-game cash you earn from killing people and stuff if you don't know). So the most popular weapons will be the most expensive.
I don't really see why this is a bad thing.
i wont go into details, but basically it will destroy competitive play.
For public play this is fine but for competitive matches it will alter the balance a bit too much I think.
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
well,
really you have to have played a competitive match to understand fully, but ill explain the best i can.
Most competitive clans have a set way of buying. For example, after winning the first (pistol) round, most clans will have an mp5 round, and the losing team will eco (not buy) to save money.
But with this new pricing system, you find that the mp5 is now either more expensive than it previously was (meaning you cannot have an mp5 round, and you are at no more of an advantage having won the first round), or the mp5 is now cheaper than it was before (meaning the team that lost the first round can also afford them)
Another example being, your team may have to eco for a round, in order to afford rifles the following round, but since rifles are now so much more expensive, it takes 2 rounds of saving, in which time the other team now have an even larger money advantage, making the round when you do have rifles, all that more difficult to win.
You will notice that these examples are extremely specific, and probably sound stupid, but the fact is that these calculations are made by competitive clans every match, and it is the way the game is played.
It is not the price changes that are the worst thing about this change, it is the fact that they will be different every match, and clan callers, will have to memorise the prices of the guns before every match, in order to decide when to buy/eco.
Check out the CAL/ED/Steam forums for competitive players views, as most have been outiend already.
i expect eventually, it may being a new angle to the game, but the way things are looking, it doesnt seem that many want to even give it a chance
Anyone who plays BF2 will tell you 'kills for guns' is a pain the ass, whichever way it's dressed up.
