    Star Control

For some reason I started thinking of Star Control 2 the other day - I played it to absolute death, won it several times.

Did anyone ever play this game? I beleive it was one of the best space adventure games of the pre-3d world. A great combination of improving your fleet of ships and weapons, highly entertaining script and great addictive arcade style space fights.

Everything about it was great, but especially the scope of the game. For those days it had an extremely non-linear story line, and a great sense of humour. The graphics were not even great in those days, - but the music was great, and they worked exactly as required

I'm just feeling a bit nostalgic. Anyone remember it?

Yes was a great game like you say had a huge scope and was great fun. Even had a 2 player mode where it was great fun destroying your mates huge dreadnought with one of those crap tiny ships. Star control 1 and 2 were better than the 3rd one though in my opinion.
