    xbox 360 connecting to PC

    Hello there,

I've just ordered myself an xbox 360. I was wondering how to share option files, etc with friends seen as it will use a hard disk rather than memory cards.

Do I HAVE to buy a memory card, or can I, for example, copy saves etc to the PC and email them, or put them on a flash disk to share with peopke.

One example is if I were to update kits and transfers in Pro Evo 6, could I then copy that to a mate's hard disk?

    Cheers

The only way to get data off your 360 onto your PC is to use this little device:

    http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/RC...a/Product.html

It's a 3rd party bit of kit that sits nicely between your HDD and the console. You can still use your HDD when this is connected but it gives you a USB cable that allows you to transfer data to and from the 360 and your PC. If you wanted to share saved games, though, you'd only be able to do it with someone who has one of these too.

    cheers for the tip.

I was hoping you could perhaps look at the contents of the XBox drive from the PC, using the wireless network connection. A bit like sharing fodlers with other pcs on a network...

Nah, can't be done, I'm afraid. Microsoft would never let it happen - just asking to be hacked.

You are unable to explore any files on the HDD of the 360 (or memory card) on your PC without the aid of the XSATA attachment. You can, however get a 360 memory card reader for your PC. But you can't transfer files to a USB stick or other USB memory device either to or from the 360, you have to use one of these 3rd party devices to do so. You have to understand that it's not in Microsoft's (or the general user's) best interests to make that data readily available to edit and transfer.

ok ok. wishful thinking i spose.

The reason I want it is because on the ol' PS2, I could edit transfers and kits on PES5, save my option file, take the mem card to my mate, and then copy it over his option file.

Seems this will be a lot harder on the xbox 360.
