Phantasy Star universe..what do you do?

I know it has a big fan base, but what on earth are you supposed to do? Pretty tough to play the 360 beta without a manual. There seems to be no direction to the game.

if it's anything like the old PSO, then it's basic MMO fare - group, get a quest, go & do it.

I thought the exact same thing Steven! It looks like a fairly decent game but I just couldn't work it out. I was running around for ages just trying to find something to do. I gave up in the end.

I'm sure there are quests or missions of some sort but I'll be damned if I know where.

Found a quest and got slaughtered within a minute. Seems like a game that will eat up your life.

No, there are no clues about what to do. I can enter the shops but can't buy anything because I have no money and don't know how to earn it.
