Xbox 360 VGA Cable + TFT

I've just got a 20" Samsung 205BW, and would like to connect my 360 to it. I know I need the VGA cable, but don't know where to connect the sound inputs to it. I've got a Soundblaster 6.1 Live! sound card, and a Creative 6.1 surround sound speaker system.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Get a converter that converts the two phono audio plugs that are on the VGA cable (the red and white ones) to a 3.5mm jack. You can then plug this into the line in of your PC and play the audio through your PC.

You can pick em up for a half decent price on eBay

IMO a better bet is to get a 2 phono socket to 3.5mm stereo adaptor (it might come in the vga cable box) as show here:

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...03.5&doy=21m10

and a 3.5mm stereo coupler as shown here:

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...upler&doy=11m4

which would allow you to connect your pc speakers up to your 360 directly, alievating the need to have the pc switched on when you want to play 360.

I then have my audio connectors from my pc and my 360 and the speaker cable taped to the desk so I can swap them over depending on whether i want to use my pc or my 360

Does require you to swap over the connectors every time you wanted to switch between your PC and 360 though.

you could do it through the line in yes, and as long as your not going to be needing to change that too often it will be perfect. remember the +'s of 5.1 tho. ill be going after running an optical cable through my decoder with a "multi-in one-out" switch. bypassing the pc completely

    Yep, should be coloured blue.

How are you connecting the 360 up to the monitor? Are you just swapping over the VGA cables between PC and xbox depending on which one you use? If so, you could buy a 2-way VGA switch box, thats what I've got right now and it comes in very handy.

I've got a Samsung 205BW, which has VGA and DVI inputs. I use the DVI input for my pc, and will be using VGA for my 360. I just have to press a button on my monitor to switch between them then

Oooo spiffy. I've got mine connected up to my PC's secondary monitor and just flick the swtich over when I want to turn on my 360.

Be warned though, with the VGA cable there can be some problems in some games where it doesn't display in the right mode. For me, in Halo 2, it displays in widescreen mode, but doesn't add in the bands so the picture stretches.

    If it's a wide screen monitor I don't think you'll have a problem.

Yeah it's a 20" widescreen monitor . The 360 will just display everything in 720p anyway.
