Been out a few days now, who's got it?

Has anyone seen in game ads yet? There was a massive fuss about them... and after playing all week I haven't seem ONE, nout, zip, nadda. i can see where their going to be. just all got placeholder images right now. Screenie them for me if you see them.

Got any dog-tags? I only have one set, from someone who was whining that no-one would fight fair with a knife so I came up behind him and stuck it up his <swear filter>

is this worth getting over bf2? I know this subject has been gone over thousands of times all over the internet, but from my play of the demo I didnt really like it. Although having said that I have read some glowing reviews.

I'd say 2142 better than BF2 and most of the bugs seem to be dying down now. The only major one left is wallhacks on the titan. All the heli/plane whores seem to have been replaced by knife whores.

i like 2142, the improved graphics engine brings in some nice shader effects if your system can run it (7900GTX's in SLI so no probs here)
Titan mode is a well needed change from the old conquest missions in BF2.

i hope they fix the titan bugs, im fed up falling off the ship when i get shot !

Yeah really annoying if your trying to revive someone or be revived and those little auto-guns shooting through walls is getting really old.

Makes me feel nostalgic for Tribes 2 - now that was a crackin' game!! But 2142 is pretty good, all the better for playing in squads with the upgrades, it loads more quickly than bf2 (still love bf2 though). Must say I'm enjoying it so far - and there isn't any spyware - I wish people would stop listening to the negative hype - the IP is used to determine which ads to show - like many websites. I haven't actually seen any evidence of the billboards yet.

I have the demo, and I cant even get that running. So I doubt I will buy the game anytime soon. However, if you guys could tell me if 1) you had to remove the windows security update KB917422 2) if you had to disable any refresh rate programs (i.e. Nvidia refresh rate fix tool).

Only thing I havent done is reinstall my gfx card drivers - which doesn't really matter as I am formatting later today.

The demo is way more buggy than the full game. i wouldn't go through all the hassle personally. If you're getting a .dll missing error you need to install a slightly different version of directx(if thats the case let me know and I'll dig up the link for you).

Just played a few more hours, still no sign of advertising.

I love BF2, but the BF2142 demo just put me right off. It does'nt look as good on my (old) system either! And the demo was buggy.

Thanks for the offer chuckskull but I have d/l everything that has been suggested during my google troubleshooting. Im just guessing its my system (found under my name, cause I just set it up )
To sum up, I cba installing anything by EA tbh. I wanted to try out the SS2 demo, and BOOM it worked straight off, maybe they should take pointers off croteam for demo releases, or anyone else for that frickin matter

Me and most people I know will simply wait for the Deluxe edition when it comes out and pay £20 for the lot.
By that point most of the bugs should be sorted.

i dont think that spec card will run decent unless your in lowest of the low settings.

it also will not run unless you card will run 800x600@60hz as that is the default as the game starts, by any chance do you use a refresh rate app that locks it to a higher hz rate ? i used to on my old CRT monitor as it looked crap at 60hz
