    widescreen bf2 problem!

OK i finally got around to getting a 20" widescreen monitor and am very pleased with it!

but i cant play battlefield 2 in widescreen (1680x1050) i did the shortcut mod as mentioned here http://www.widescreengamingforum.com...pic.php?t=1030 but now it just crashes to desktop straight after displaying the bf2 logo!

i also tried changing the screen size in the video.con file but it still does not work!

please help me i need to play bf2 in widescreen!

well change the .con file back.
does the game start without the command line shortcut ?
if it does are you sure you got the shortcut right ?

    "D:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142Launcher.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

you must have the spaces as above ?
my path may not be the same as mines from ea downloader, just the bits after .exe"

also delete the folders in My Documents\Battlefield 2142\mods\bf2142\cache
it will rebuild them next time you join a map
