    What's your GOTY 2006?

Maybe it's bit too early for this but anyway...

So what was your "game of the year" 2006?

For me it's Gothic3 hands down, despite all it's bugs this game is definitely one of the best I've ever played. I have recently upgraded memory & cpu just to play this game better. And new graphic card on it's way soon Oblivion is close second, followed by Titan Quest. Both of which I played intensively, but they are not quite as good as gothic3 in my opinion. I'm thinking of buying NWN2 next as I enjoyed the first one very much, but I'm too busy playing G3 now so maybe next month. Anyway year 2006 was quite good year for me as RPG enthusiast

If memory serves, I've only actually bought one game this year so far. (That being Micro Machines 4, which wasn't exactly revolutionary, but still good fun)

Oblivion was ok for a while, but soon got boring. I may try company of heroes out, but otherwise it's been pretty uninspiring gaming wise.

Waiting for Spore and Enemy Territory:Quake Wars, to revive my gaming interests.

I thought it would be oblivion, but it got boring very quickly and there wasn't enough variety.

HL2:ep1 was fantastic, but too short. Although I know that was deliberate.

Prey was lots of fun, but it's novel ideas were all exhausted quite soon.

LOTR:BFME2 is a fantastic RTS, with brilliant graphics and an engaging plot.

But I have to go for Gothic3 at the moment. Depth, complexity and variety that are lacking in oblivion. Engaging plot with many options for progress. Graphics are great, landscape is varied and interesting, and you have to make choices that actually matter to the game.
Only problem is the bugs in the first release of the game. A month on, and my version is working smoothly.

But I am still awaiting a few more games to come out this year. And I've not got around to playing sam'n'max yet!

Oblivion I guess - although the sheer quality of the half life 2 series is head and shoulders above anything i've played..

Amazingly for an FPS whore like myself I'd have to say the title goes to Company of Heroes.

HL2: Ep 1 can have a silver medal.

I'd say Company of Heroes, for the AI and the destructive environment.

Other than that pretty uninspiring year really, I am looking forward to the Wii and Supreme Commander and C&C3.
