I doubt it, like people on there say the devkits have a higher capacity and the thing that really makes me doubt it is that gamespot today quote MS saying there wont be a larger hdd despite the 1080p movies being available...

What about the fact that you're going to be able to download HD movies (anywhere from 5gb to 9gb) and TV shows when the service goes live? I think new flavors of HDD will be at least announced if not released within a couple of months.

Edit: Just reread your post and you mentioned the HD movies - sorry about that. Even so, look at the behaviour of MS over the past few months. Adding 1080p (like the PS3), it's a definite attempt to compete, and with 60gb HDDs in PS3s from launch, I reckon we can see them competing in that respect too.

It is possible they say that because they already have plnety of stock to clear. A larger HDD is virtually guaranteed.

Is it possible to put a signature on a personal HDD?

Debug Xbox 360s look like retail boxes... until you turn em on you can't tell the difference.

Some early devkit, not debug, Xbox 360s came with larger HDD enclosures, looking like a big beige box, about three times the height of a normal HDD. These housed larger HDD drives and in some cases extra connectors for debugging purposes.

Most likely this is a shot from a later version devkit, as devkits need more HDD space for all the extra gumph they run as well as the actual game code.

Debug units have a standard sized drive, their purpose being to run unsigned code in as near to retail conditions as possible... for the purpose of playtesting and debugging.
