Unreal 2 - XMP

XMP is a free mutliplayer addon for those with U2 (if you didnt allready know). A demo has been released, anyone been playing it ?

Ive been beta testing this for some months now and having great fun with the legend guys playing it (NDA's suck ). What a great addon, puts Halo's multiplayer to shame.
Full version release is supposed to be tomrrow, dont know if it will go ahead though !

I've been playing it for a couple of days now and to simply put it i think it rocks the only problem i think there is with it is the netcode (as it can be really bad at times)

other than that the funkeh spawn point thingy ma bobs, the vehicles, and all the other gubbins make this game a superb online teamplay game (ala Wolfenstein ET Stylee but with vehicles etc)

ive got a credit note for my local pc game shop{paid £30 for halo had it a week and took it back pure shi*te} and i need to spend it lol i was gonna buy call of duty but the wifes got me it for chrimbo lol as i was gonna buy it today lol but she screamed dont ive already got you it lol so if its a standalone i could get that

yes you will need the retail version of Unreal 2 installed (according to the ataricommunity forums) which you can pickup for £14.99 from play

edit: actually you will only need the play cd from Unreal 2 to play it

There is also a new version with XMP and U2 together hitting the shops soon to replace the old copys !

btw : any bugs in it, feel free to post them, can pass them onto Legend and try and get them sorted

there was that problem where the ingame server list didnt download but that tends to happen on occassions apart from that there are some stupid people on the server sometimes

i mean i was just playing it a few minutes ago and i took over a generator after i killed a member of the opposite team i set up some of the broken shield generators around the energy generator and didnt notice there was a teammate waiting to be revived, i then revived him and he tk'd me for "******* running around his body without reviving him"

ok i admit that i didnt notice him but why the hell tk me

I have the Demo of XMP..... sucks to be honest.

Even on servers which apparnetly pinged under 100, it was still unplayable

*I think* There is a known problem with netcode and some servers in the demo version, its being looking into afaik.

Too many people setting up 20 player servers on cable lines in the US at the moment though, no servers with any backbone really
Give it some time though !

I like the demo but I get around 2FPS with AA switched on. ti4200.
