Completely hooked on Medieval 2 Total War

    As the title says
It's an amazingly addictive/fun game. Much better than Rome Total War imho.

Anyone else playing it at the moment?

I'm about 72 turns in, only have about 12 provinces but each is making 2000-4000 per turn so finances are great.. trying to wipe out the milanese at the moment, then planning to go further afar, since my only other nearby enemies are the romans which the pope won't let me attack
We cannot choose what we are.. but what are we but the sum of our choices?

I loved the original, but wasn't too keen on the new style of gameplay Rome offered (i.e. with cities rather than invading provinces in the old manner). I might give this a try though, as the medieval period appeals to me more.

Mine came on wed the 8th

Pretty awesome game, and I find it's alot more challenging that R: TW since the armies are pretty evenly matched.

Played on easy mode and it took me about 50 turns just to unify the britain, usually I'm slaughtering armies twice my size on very hard mode.

I much prefer the new style of campaign map to the old style, seems more realistic to me, and gives it another layer of tactics.

What I do find annoying is the cities don't seem to take unit upkeep off thier profits like they did in R: TW. My cities were generating huge amounts of money, but because I had a large army killing off the scots I was earning hardly anything per turn

Strange, I found R: TW much more difficult
I'm playing it in normal difficulty, wiped out scotland, northern france and madrid, couple of the roman castles (until the pope told me to stop killing them).
Just wandering around southern France with an army of about 4500 at the moment
Think I'm about late 70 turns through, looking forward to getting home and playing it

edit: Something to note is I can't actually be bothered wandering princesses, merchants, priests around the map & I've ignored quite a few of the missions - finding it more fun just to march huge armies across the map in different directions and build up the trade in my cities further back in the empire.
