im thinking of buying the Nintendo wii i think it looks a really good console

im in two minds to be honest, i really fancy playing Zelda that looks awesome, i've not been to convinced by some of the other games so im not sure if i can justify getting one yet.
Im sure if i do get one, it will in the corner of my room under a pile of dust by the end of january
Definatly buying one!
Tell you what then Johnny... if you can PM me around January, then I'll MORE that be willing to do you a favour and take it off your hands :) Like you I want it just for Zelda, and probably no more... £200 pounds for what could be a fantastic one off experience. Choices eh....
after looking at the titles, rayman, zelda, wii sports.
add in the wii play thing (downloading old console games £5 a pop).
Zelda is very probably brilliant, but £200 just to play it? Unless you are looking forward to Monkey Ball \ Mario Galaxy \ Metroid that seems like a lot.
A least pick up a classic pad and some points to download the retro games, and have some Mario 64 goodness.
I wont be getting one , never really been interested in it at all . Never been a Zelda fan myself and this seems to be the only launch game getting good reviews.
If there was a game called Monkey Boy, I'd buy it.
You can play Monkey Ball with your mates as well - 50 mini games included. Wii Sports should be good multiplayer as well. And you might be able to download Goldeneye at some point.
I'm hoping I can hold out until the inevitable price drop some time in the new year.
But I have a feeling i'll just impulse buy one before Christmas for Zelda only :(
Never been a nintendo fan so i wont be buying one.
Really looking forward to it, I think there are some legal issues surrounding Golden Eye, but Ocarina of Time is going to come out for Wii. I admit there is definitely a paucity of good, 'gamer' games, but Zelda looks incredible and Far Cry is on its way. I trust Ninty to bring out some good stuff early next year (Mario Galaxy, Super Smash bros, Maybe even a Mario Kart.) Add the ability to play some great classics and a great control system and I'm sold. If the worst comes to the worst you can just chuck Resident Evil from the GameCube in it.
Rayman is superbly funny, really really funny infact.
Red Steel is pretty coold with CoD3 less so, the controls in CoD3 are just to finnickety.
Wii Sports and Wii play are good timewasters to play with friends.
Zelda is probably the one people will spend most time with, that and Mario.
And I reckon that Ninty are lining up something with the DS and the Wii interacting with each other... though that's nothing more than a personal opinion.
Damn you electronic media journos... Over the Weekend, I've been looking at more and more media, and there have been some great reviews of Zelda - definitely dont want to pass this game over...
But it really does come down to the point above, is it worth £200? Probably not. Maybe it would be worth picking one up in the new year instead, like someone else mentioned. Maybe if I was 5 years younger then I would be in that queue to get one on release day for sure!!!
Im also looking at the fact that once i get a Wii i can get alot more space back by taking my SNES, n64 and Cube off the desk and replace it will a lovely little thing :) Maybe even my Dreamcast can go once SEGA start releasing old titles over Wii Play.
I wont be getting on release anymore it seems, I'm leaving my job in Jan and need to save some money but soon as i can afford it... ITS MINE! :)
