Question next gen on CRT TV

How bad (or good) does the Xbox360 look on a normal CRT TV? At the min I haven't really got the cash to spend on a HD LCD (currently have a Sony 24" viewable CRT) so is it worth getting a console like the 360 without?

well, my brother has an xbox 360 and he plays it on a CRT TV and the picture is still very good quality and detailed. A CRT TV doesn't mean a bad picture.

I wasn't necessarily meaning its bad, but am I going to be disappointed? Its obviously impressive on a HD display, but is it better putting the money into a new TV then the console in a few months?

I don't think there's really one answer to that. Personally i'd get the Xbox 360 first and then the hd tv if i thought i needed it. You will see an improvement, definitely but it depends on whether you'd rather spend money first without knowing what it would be like on your CRT tv or whether you'd rather buy an Xbox 360 and then make the decision. It depends on how desperately you want the Xbox 360 and how much money you wish to spend (ie. if you are on a budget, it might be more sensible to stick with the CRT TV for a while at least.)

I dont think you will be disapointed at all with the 360 on a CRT TV, I had mine on one for a few months before I got my current HD TV and it was great... its jsut better with HD

I tend to have my 360 plugged into the standard 28" widescreen TV we have at our palace of men behaving badly, and all my mates still think the graphics look awesome.

HD However is jaw-droppingly nice - esp on a huge display like the 36" Dell's or similar. I also have the VGA cable so I can take the xbox to bed with me, for some late night gaming action and plug it into my monitor which makes it look nicer as well.
