Need for speed Carbon - only 1280x1024?

Does anyone know why 1280x1024 is the highest resolution I can set...there just isnt anything higher listed. I need 1680x1050 if possible. Ive had a google, but cant find anything and there seems to be people running it in 1680x1050.

Card is x1900xt if that makes a difference.

    any ideas folks?

Havent got NFS Carbon yet however, it might be worth looking for a *.cfg file where you may be able to adjust the screen resolution, I know this was possible in NFS Most Wanted, ill look around for you.

Edit: Might be worth while looking at the first posting on this site here: http://www.nfsplanet.com/nfsc_files.php?lang=eng

    Hope it helps

its ridiculous, the game is developed for the Xbox 360 at the same time which is widescreen only

Thats because ea claim that pc widescreen user have an advantage over 4:3 pc users with their square monitors, thus they will never add it in.

Yep I can confirm that the game works fine with the patch shown above. I managed to complete this game last week after playing it in 1440x900 and it ran fine with everything up high on my 'lowly' X1800XT.

Might as well say that i thought that it was a really good game but it took a few goes to do the final race... Shame that you cant use the Main boss car to continue in career mode (but you can in quick race btw)...Not bad, considering i never actually got near to completing any of the other NFS games.

then why do they allow you to change resolution? Becuase if Im playing on 800*600 then the rich kids on their 1280*1024 can see more.

Also, lets get rid of draw distance modifiers because they are cheating as well.

And surround sound, that gives an advantage.

And make everything black and white, becuase if someone is colour blind its not fair on them.

thanks for the link to the patch...unfortunately, i cant see a download link when i get there. I seem to be going in circles..have i missed something?

Ignore this, I already have the file...ill try and do it now cheers

edit 2: Looks excellent at 1680x1050, dunno why they would leave that out of the main game?
