Now, until I saw this I was sceptical of the PS3's abilities and vowed never to buy one....but this looks FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!

Reminds me a bit of Flatout / Flatout 2 / Burnout but in drop dead gorgeous graphics and with Bikes too

haha. I watched the IGN videos last night, and thought this game on multiplayer is going to kill Burnout Revenge stone dead, and Revenge on Xbox Live was the most fun I had on my 360. Was such a laugh, but this looks much better.

See that story on IGN today? Its a week late for its Japanese launch and the Jap version has no multiplayer, but its confirmed for the Yank \ European release.

This game is worth waiting for, and its one of the two big issues Sony need to come good on. Firstly is this game as much fun to play as it looks, and secondly does Killzone actually look anything like the E3 footage.

Killzone - no chance. The footage is just too good to be anything close to what we can expect from the actual game running on a PS3, but there's a preview of the final Japanese build of MotorStorm on IGN, and according to them its amazing.

Hmmmm as i pointed out in my Wii vs PS3 thread... i really didnt like this game, it didnt play well at all single player, it was shiny but a crap game

I can however see it being the sort of game that would be a laugh online as you can spend all your time just trying to run over the people on motorbikes or push everyone else off a cliff.

From what ive played.... Shiny but meh.

I think the footage of Killzone just changed my mind a little about the PS3, even if the quality of the game will be nothing like that.

I'm not allowing the Killzone footage to change my mind about the PS3, Sony must show me gameplay footage, not pretty videos. Of course if it comes out and looks anything like that, I'll pre-order one as soon as pos.

The visuals arn't THAT great, not worth buying a PS3 just to look at that game, I've heard the actual gameplay is a bit meh anyway, looks that way too really, it's an arcade racing game, but with fancy graphics and offroad.

Where did you hear? IGN and Gamespot are saying this is very much as good as it looks. Plays great, looks great.

Burnout Revenge is just an arcade racing game with fancy graphics (not as fancy as MotorStorm though) and that on Live is the best racing game on the 360. Loads of fun.

I think it's also got a bit to do with ZOMG new console! fever, where some people get so wraped up in a console launch that they make themselves think the game they're playing is better than it actually is.

To me though, it just looks like one of those namco arcade racers you find in big bowlplexes, once you get out of the seat after a horribly short race you kinda think "Well that was nice, can I get my pound back now?"

Like when GameSpot gave Zelda an 8.8? Maybe you just dont read GameSpot very much, because they can almost always be trusted on their review scores.

No, I think its because it looks amazing, and almost all previews on the net are saying it plays amazing as well. Not that I'm one to question the random playtesters you've conferenced with, of course. We'll have to wait and see.

Erm... ok mate. Don't play Namco arcade racers in big bowlplexes then. Doubt this is going to have any real bearing on this game, but you could still save a pound.

Just so I know, is every 360 owner on the forums going to deperatly try to rubbish every PS3 game before its launched, to convince themselves its no good and they are happy with their choice?

Maybe its because I'm pissed, maybe its because I foolishly decided I'd stop smoking on my birthday and I'm now screaming for one, but it seems you people decide how you'd like things to be, and then form your opinions around that.

Lucky that kid doesnt trust GameSpot or IGN isn't it? Because they both say its looking great.

Lucky all those playtesters were around to tell you it was 'meh'. Still, a different line coming from almost everyone else, so again, lucky you know the ones that didn't like it.

Lucky its just 'ZOMG new console fever' otherwise you could say it looks great.

Always good value this forum, the insecurites of console owners wondering if they've made the right choice are a constant source of amusement.
