    Game not compatible with WinXP

I just received Discworld Noir from play.com (via their 3 for 20 quid offer), and stupidly didn't check operating system compatibility...

Is there any way to make the game compatible with WinXP (Pro)? (eg patch?) Bit annoying, as I bought it for my girlfriend..

you tried xp's compatability modes? i don't remember whether i tried noir under xp, but i do remember playing it within the last few years without major problems. it's possible it falls into an obscure minority of games that aren't compatible with some gfx cards or processors for some reason...

I know this is gonna sound REALLY over the top.....but a cheap second hard disk(£40 30gig Ebuyer), reset BIOS to boot from it, install 98SE on it.

Then just swap it over when you're out incase she wants to play. Swap BIOS back to boot XP for you.

Might even be worth her having a seperate HDD anyway, to save the confusion of Document folders, and Music etc. and any *cough* downloads

Try this and see if it help m8

    http://www.thediscworld.co.uk/problems.htm

Hi, I have the following problem: I can install Discworld Noir without any problems or error-messages; but it does not create a shortcut on my desktop, there are no entries in the start menu, and in the folder there is not even a file named "Discworl.exe" or something like this. I have WinXP-Home, and I chose the "full installation" mode. Any ideas? Thank you. Solution Hi, i found a way to make Discworld Noir run. Goto Gamecopyworld and get the NoCd patch#2 "dwn_xx.exe" Copy it into the same folder as the tin3dxd is located, then start dwn_xx.exe and apply with yes.. after this, discworld should work..so it did on my win xp..<|*__*|> Greets, rabbit
