Holy cr*p! I'd no idea that the 360 GPU was so advanced! I knew it borrowed from the ATi R600 but even so... Unless I've read this wrong, the article says that the 360 can/could handle 1080p better than the PS3!
An Atlantean Triumvirate, Ghosts of the Past, The Centre Cannot Hold
The Pillars of Britain, Foundations of the Reich, Cracks in the Pillars.
My books are available here for Amazon Kindle. Feedback always welcome!
That seemed like a tech spec review comparison to me, although the technical details do matter, the PS3 fanboy can brag about having lots of processors to the 360 fanboy, and he can brag about his 512Mb RAM, but really it's all about the games, otherwise all you've got is some expensive paperweights.
Unfortuneatly, the exclusive titles means I'm gonna have to buy all three eventually.
Excellent article, if not a little technical and babbled like he's talking to someone on a similar wavelength in the pub. What's his conclusion again? I've got no idea.
Both platforms have something to offer, Sony fan boys will buy the PS3 no matter what, but if I had to pay for one or the other I'd go for the proven platform so far (Xbox 360) and wait out to see peoples' reactions to the PS3 over the next 6 months. Spending that amount of money on a PS3 before we know what it's really all about is too much of a risk for me. If I had the spare cash knocking around I still wouldn't pick one up until at least the summer.
Luckily, we're in a position to get a PS3 and we'll bring you an honest opinion as soon as we get our hands on it.

Veles is right, its all about the games. Everyone is a little bit more aware of what the 360 can do now, not because of a sheet of tech specs, but because of watching Gears of War up and running. Its not what the consoles are capable of (to some extent anyway) its about what the people making the games for them can make them do.
1st gen games will always be overshadowed from a graphical point of view by 2nd \ 3rd gen games.
It's a nice in-depth review but falls a little short in the conclusion. "Sitting on the fence" I spose is ok at this point.
Maybe we'll be better able to judge in 2007/8 once we have had a few mature games from both
Well eventually they'll both get a really good selection of games on there, neither of them will win really, in the sense of which one is better/has better games, since they'll both probably have some very nice exclusives on there. I doubt either will be a flop like the Sega Saturn or Dreamcast (well, even they had some really nice titles on there).
It's far too early to really judge the PS3 yet, but the system definitely has potential - I've seen the occasional glimpse excellence![]()
