TVersity Help Please

I tried Zune and connected fine to my xbox 360. I streamed pictures, video clips and music and it displayed them perfectly. Now, as Zune only plays .wmv files I heard about TVersity. I uninstalled Zune, removed all my codecs and installed ffdshow, and done numerous restarts of the PC and xbox and installed TVersity.

I disconnected my PC from the Xbox using the system blade on the xbox 360 so everything was from fresh.

Now, I've installed TVersity, launched it and added some test media in to the Library. The Library has successfully refreshed and I can see all the folders as I browse through the GUI.

I go to the 360 menu and to either Video, Pics or Music and try to find a Windows based PC. It won't find my PC.

My setup is as follows:

XP SP2,
Xbox 360 -wired-> PC -wireless-> router.

I've got the correct port open and allocated to TVersity in my Linksys firewall settings and Windows Firewall has an exception to allow 'media center.exe'.

Why won't my Xbox 360 connect to my PC now? It did it fine with Zune.

Try disabling the firewall completely to see if that is the problem

I don't know if you used this to set it up in the 1st place but have a read through this guide to see if there is anything obvious that you missed

OK, I've installed Windows Media Player 11 now that has Windows Media Connect 2 bundled in with it. How do I sync my xbox 360 with it?

Providing you have TVersity running as a server on the pc all you should need to do is go to the xbox and choose either the video or pictures selcection (not the media centre section btw) and then it should either ask weather or not you want to use the pc or hdd from the console, select PC and you should see your pc there

when u select it it should say somethin like TVersity on : PC name - click that and then you should see all the media which is shared using TVersity.

Yeah that is what I was expecting, but it doesn't. It just says it can't find a PC to connect to.

I'm very baffled as I've had it connected through Zune no problems at all.

Is anyone one here able to go through there settings with me tonight over msn or something?

Are you using ICS to link the 360 to the PC?

Check what the 2 IPs your pc has using ipconfig from cmd

Then go into tversity webpage control panel, goto general and type in the IP of the NIC that has the 360 linking into it,in the home network box.

It's connected via ethernet cable as supplied with the 360 if that's what you mean?

My 360 from memory is using ip .39, would this need to be the same IP in the TVersity settings / router settings page? As at the moment it's set to 1 (my PC) in my router.

Do you go from Router -> PC and then link the 360 to the PC?

My 360 is wired to my PC through ethernet cable that came in the box. The PC connects to the router wirelessly as my internet point is in a different room.

The best I can describe it is

Xbox 360 -ethernet cable-> PC -wireless-> router -modem->

Right, goto run, type cmd and enter
at the dos prompt enter ipconfig then press enter again

Look for the Ethernet adapter local area connection (the one that doesn't say wireless), and write down the ip for that.

Put that IP into the network address box on tversity, restart tversity service then try it!
