    Wii Mortal Kombat

Well, since I saw this on the games line up and I've always been a fan of the MK series, I wondered how on earth the Wiimote would be usable for a beat em up.

    Well, here's how!

Not bad I thought they'd be using bigger, more sweeping gestures, but it's mostly sharp ones that more or less replicate d-pad type movements.

Looking at the playback again, the delay only seems to be from moves that require you to draw a sword or where the onscreen character is waiting for you to apply a followup move.

At least that's how it looks to me.

I'm personally waiting for any of the Time Crisis games to be Wii'd.

Just checked out the vids - along with a load on gamespot - and have to say that this looks really good - Looks like something that is still mainstream whilst also utilising unique features of the Wii. I also like the way that they have said "If you want to use the classic controller or the GC controller then you can" - its just nice to have the choice isnt it - although it looks so much fun!!! April 07, does anyone know if thats a US only, or worldwide release?

I think I agree there. If you think he has the finish the gesture before the game will recognise it and then initiate the move. looking at the scorpion spear attack that reacts quite quickly. and I'm sure when you learn to do all the gestures with some speed you won't notice much of a problem.
