i was playing sonic the hedgehog and it just froze, i checked online and Microsoft recommend trying to clear the cache, so i'm going to try that.

You dont need a receipt, just call them up and they will ask you when you purchased it and will collect and send/fix your 360

My 360 went mid-last week. I had the same, they would send a pre-paid shipping label and I just have to box it up.. but it can be in ANY box doesn't have to be the actual box.. I just put it into a spare box I had lying round.

..I got my receipt around 1-2 days after I had phoned them and they had issued the repair.. etc. So it does take more than a couple of hours.

UPS though are really good, I rang to arrange a pickup at 11am asked for them to pick it up from my work they said sure, do I want it picked up today.. I was like yes that woul d be great and they arrived to pickup an hour after the phone call!

Still not heard anything from Microsoft though, anyone know whether they keep you updated on status of repair?.. Or do they just email you when its being sent back?

Yeah that'll do fine, I sent mine away in a Freeview box.. which was in no way plain! I packed mine up pretty well due to the guy at Microsoft telling me mine was being sent to be serviced and not just swapped straight over for a refurbished model. But I'm not sure, on what they actually do.!

...I asked the guy at the time of sorting repair and he was like it usually takes 3 weeks! ..damn!

i've had a few problems with my 360 of late, it sometimes boots with the 3 rings of death or corrupted graphics, if I leave it for a while it starts up fine again.

    Should I return it?

I dont want to lose my save games, videos etc
