For me they have done a few very important things:

1.) Visuals. This game looks jaw droppingly good, the explosions and sun effects are awesome, and the models are so damn crisp. Totally amazing view distance and a real feeling of being out in a battle.

2.) Cross com. They have opened up the tactics by letting you take control of the selected vehicle/AI. The way you use the cross com will dicate the success of the game it seems. It could be that you do a little less shooting, and more commanding, which is great IMHO.

3.) Controls. Somewhat tweaked, but not easy for a GRAW virgin, or someone used to Vegas, as per the first one, once it clicks you are DEADLY, so it just takes a bit of getting used to. Shooting from cover is not as good as vegas, but better than GRAW.

Great little demo, and the bit with the § motars § was absolutly tremendous.

Could be a real gem of a game based on this short demo. Did I say how good this looks? Smoke, sunbeams, dust, and a real "Sharpness" to the models. wow!

    I didn't enjoy it with either : /

heh heh. I really need to check things before I submit!

I thought I was one of the only who can't get to grips with the old Joypad when it comes to FPS. They are crap!!!

The only thing is, with these multi platform releases, that I find console life better. Good graphics, without having to upgrade and a better multiplayer community!

But we are crying out for a good keyboard and mouse! What can be hard about it? 1 USB keyboard in one port, 1 USB mouse in the other! I don't care if they are not apple white, with green LEDS (they have them anyway) I just want ACCURACY!!!!!!

    Ok, my rants over

I found GRAW to be an excellent release last year for the 360, and hoping GRAW2 continues the great multiplayer fun! With 14 multiplayer maps (8 on GRAW, with 4 extra in Chapter 2) it looks like that they are focusing even more on that - fantastic!

(I get too bored of linear single player games, so didn't play through that!)

GRAW for PC was fairly disappointing. The parachute jump was fantastic, but it was a performance hog and somehow not as fun. The PC port of Rainbow 6 Vegas is very good though.

Yeah, I seen that, but the Lag is laughable. There was a dude on you-tube using it.

What I don't get is why you need an adaptor in the first place. You can already use a keyboard for writing messages and stuff, so why can't they integrate this into a game with Mouse control too? Is it a technical problem, or are developers just to lazy to do it?

It's not a technical problem - support is there in the 360 for USB Keyboards, and mice wouldn't be a problem to incorporate either.

    Laziness... not really...

From a couple of comments i've heard from someone who does freelance programming on consoles it's apparently down to Microsoft not wanting developers to incorporate keyboard/mouse support into the games, and stick to the control pads only...

What are you impressions of this? Seems like the series hasn't moved on that much, nice graphics, same gameplay?

No doubt, it will still have its fan base, but I'm getting bored of it.

    Prefer Rainbow 6:Vegas to this.

Mind you, I'll be playing the game in more depth in a couple of weeks, so should have more of an idea then.

Its because it would ruin xbox live. Anyone with a keyboard and mouse would clean up.

Steven, I wasn't overly impressed by it. It looks good but it seems to be more of the same. The demo was very short mind you so it might not give much of a look into the full game itself.

Downside for me is that it's another shooter, something we just have too much of on the 360 in my opinion. Just recently we've had Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas, Lost Planet and now GRAW 2.

I was going to buy GRAW 2 just for the co-op which I really enjoyed in the original game but I've gone for Crackdown instead, it has a very enjoyable co-op mode and the game feels fresh and unique. In March I think I'll go for Virtua Tennis.
