Just installed it. Not had much of a chance to have a play yet. It looks stunning. But it took my X1950XT up to 95c within a couple of minutes.

Grr!!! its crashed twice I think that its must be a driver problem. I have never been very happy with 7.2 anyway. So I am off to change them I may give the NGO one a try. But anyway the game itself looks and feels great and the sound with my 6.1 setup is excellent.

Hmn, maybe it is a problem with drivers. I'll try and test it out tomorrow when I get back home. See if I have any problems.

It could also be the fact that your card is reaching 95c!! Are you sure thats an accurate temperature?

Bah 95c thats nothing my old rig, passively cooled 6600GT used to go about 120 - 130 ish when I used to play games. Possibly why I got rid of it tho!

Yes its accurate. Nothing to worry about these cards run hot. The only other game that gets it that warm though is Farcry on maximum settings 105c.

Installed - looks ok, runs ok, plays ok. One thing thats getting on my nerves though - any of you able to get 5.1 sound? I have EAX selected etc but no directional audio (on an Audigy 2 ZS).

Mate - you're a star! Nice one, I had tried swapping in and out all the openAL drivers I could find but it seems that its been built against a specific version (1.1.1.0) otherwise reverts to a generic software driver. I'll try their solution tonight when I get home. Thanks again Chris.

Seems to be a pretty common problem.

I heard there would be a patch that will sort out teething problems today but again thats just gossip.

Might come during the day mate, my Gameplay order came with the dinner/afternoon post.

I'v been trying to get onto the GSC Forums to find out if there is going to be a patch or not, its running like a dog for me.

I wouldn't be surprised if it lands Monday, Play are good at that on the pre order front for me
