I think games such as this should be treated like an addictive substance. I'm not saying ban it, but from the billions they have made they should take on some of the burden of helping those with no self control who they exploit as customers.
It's frightening to think of what some of these players could achieve if only they had the same ambition and motivation in the real world as they do online.

Good Job i`m not addicted to wow. I can give up any time I jut dont wanna
The biggest problem with these games is they reward obsession far too much. You can't compete on these games if you're casual because there is always someone prepared to miss a days meals and nights sleep to have more experience points than you. They need to introduce some kind of balance where obsessive playing isn't so rewarding and people who maybe only stick it on for a few hours a week can still keep up with those who play it more.

6 man days in, level 37, electrodes ain't gonna help me mate.
Im lvl 36 and its took me a couple of months.
I`m gonna stop playing for a week now. got other things that need sorting
I've never played wow, not really my type of game. I know someone who does, and he really gets boring about it, going on about elves, pixes or whatnot. Thing is, he plays for hours at a time, when that new patch came out, he took a week off work just to play it. There's dedication and there's self destruction, his manager aint very happy with him being late (and half asleep) all the time.
I read about that chineese therapy(?) a couple of days ago, it mentioned that in addition to the cattle prods, they fill them up with drugs, one addiction for another?
I found WoW boring to be honest, it just didnt cut it for me.
I guess its not my cup of tea lol!
I used to play UO back in the day. And at times it was a laugh, but to feel like a part of it you have to work. I found what was basically a scam for creating hair deeds, and I sold hundreds of the things and within a fortnight had a high level fully equiped mage and over a million gold. None of that was actually fun. The two hours I spent making newbies days handing out checks for thousands of gold and making them do stuff for it was the only enjoyable bit before I abandoned the game forever (oh other than sitting outside the bank naked on a stool banging a drum).
These people who are so dedicated to these games should consider applying that focus to the real world. The kind of discipline it must take to endlessly boost your stats doing the most mind numbing tasks, you could actually become quite exceptional at a real world skill. The kind of insight and forwardness it takes to work your way up or create your own community, you could be hugely successful in a real world endevour.

real world? the real worlds for Noobs...
im joking. but UO was a hell of a lot of fun in its day, cant be bothered with that kind of thing anymore tho.
