Half true and half false its no longer Sony saying no pron, its now the producers of discs themselves saying no pron, maybe they are taking the heat for Sony, after all how many disc producers do you know, I know one Verbatim.

I think that although Blu-Ray sells well initially, you have to wait for the average consumer to get on board and the HD-DVD will take over. After all all it says HD Ready on their telly, they know what a DVD is, so HD-DVD is the next step. I'm surpised there is no TV adverts out yet.

I vote for both. LG have their hybrid player and warner brothers have developed their Total HD (hybrid blu-ray/hd-dvd) discs.

I want HD DVD to win, mainly out of a general dislike for Sony. Though I think as time goes by and the PS3 starts to sell, Bluray will take over. To most people the PS3 is a perfectly good player.

The main reason I want HD DVD to win is because it is region free. But that could change if they become the dominant format.

I hate region coding. If worst comes to worst, Slysoft will have an AnyDVD version which will work with Blu-Ray soon enough (beta is promised within this quarter and HD-DVD already works).

Ummm...how much is a PS3 going to cost? You can pick up a 360 for about £200, so that plus £120 is still about £100 less than the pre-order price for a PS3.
