... Break into my car! :angst:

In Sainsburys car park at 15:45 in the afternoon! :mad:

What the hell is the world coming to?!

My mum had borrowed my car to go get some tea and when she was going back to the car with my sister they heard the alarm going off and someone was stood next to it, mum and sister shout and they drive off!

My sister, bless her cotton little socks, went after them running up the stairs to the top floor and onto the road! What a sister ey? She managed to get half the plate and a description of the car! Sainsbury's have CCTV coming out of the car park as well. Sis managed to get abit of the plate as well, NU51 *U* or something, it was a Blue Fiesta 5 door. What aload of rubbish.

Gah, twice this has happened now and in two different cars... Why does this happen? :mad:

And the fun thing is is that the police will do nothing about it....just wonderful isn't it?

Aye... I have been in the police station since then. Gah. They said they are getting the CCTV tonight and they'll have a look tonight.

The Sainsbury's I used to work in, London Colney, had the worst car crime in the area...

I even had my car nicked from there, right UNDER a CCTV camera... superbly, becuase of cost savings, there were no tapes in the machines and no-one watching the camera so they had no record of the car being stolen.

Funnily enough that all changed when they had a store security meeting there and the guy running the meeting loaded up his car at the end of the day then popped into the store to do some shopping... he came back out to find his laptop and a load of other gear had been nicked.

Within a couple of months we had CCTV cameras so powerful they could read number plates on cars going past on the M25...

Funny how that soon makes em change their mind, isn't it Nick?

Not yet, but I'm only covered third party, fire and theft. So I doubt they'll be able to do much. Gah, makes me so angry. :mad:

what car do you drive ? yeah the police dont really care about crime i guess because it looks bad if they record it so they dont bother

i had car nicked from outside home and found by police burnt out on council estate.police said if they removed it they would charge me !!.luckily insurance picked up the tab.
then 2 months later someone broke into my replacement car
this time police caught him as he had done 6 other cars in area.police asked me what was missing from car and very keen to know,then told me they had him down station.
for some reason they would not let me take him round the back of the station and politely ask why he broke into my car, as i kicked his teeth to his down through his *r*e !!!
funny that !!!

You should hook up those tasers to the outside of your car - touch it get fried ... Just make sure you dont fry yourself.

I wouldn't hold much hope of having them trace the offenders either mate, as chances are the car they had was nicked previously that day. :(

There's no reward in taking a car - it's not something you can realistically sell or keep - it's just be for thrills. Go karting or something dammit. :mad:

Who wants to put money down that these were chavs? Maybe the government should think about conscription to all tthese low lifes. Give them some discipline and a purpose in life.

What car was it mate? New, middle aged or....classic?

I'm not sure, but I think under the theft clause you may be able to claim for damage as a result of attempted theft. If you haven't got protected no claims, however, it might be cheaper just to take it on the chin, and get it fixed privately :(

That does not look cheap to get fixed privatly though :(

If you get the whole plate, maybe you can claim of their insurance, but I can guess that they might not be insured..
Your insurance company will be a lot more willing to help though, if you can get the full plate - but they might be able to look it up with the partial plate.

Quick update, the car was a R reg Corsa, black sport, only reason I got it was because it was much better with petrol than my old 5 door corsa, plus I liked the look of it. Black is a sexy colour. :)

Police said they have got the plate off the CCTV and running a search on the plate today.

They said because of my sister and how she ran after him and got a description of the two scrotes and the car, then theres a "good" chance of finding them.

Seems like my sister saw a big, ish, guy and a chavvy girl. :mad:

Ah well I can just wait and hope to hear something.

I think mosherben should be in charge of this bloody country it'll be abit better without the scrotes.

Any update on this? Have they got the toe-rags responsible yet?

Should hope they've been beaten with sticks! I remember when someone tried to break into my car, the most expensive part wasn't a new door, but the paint!! The police made the guy pay for all the damage; they caught him when he got angry and broke some other stuff on the car when he couldn't break in... Think he was charged with criminal damage IIRC

Just got off the phone with the body shop to fix the damage... £275!!! The arse did enough damage for a replacement door, what an pillock. He had buckled the inside of the door so it was unsafe and a new door is required. :mad:

Not heard a bloody thing from the police, bunch of useless lazy bums. :stop:

Get the PCs phone number and phone him up, get regular updates, about once every 2 days otherwise it slips into the past scarily quickly because they are actually very busy behind the scenes.

As much as I would like to have a nice car I cant bring myself

That was something Dad worried about with his 523i, and rightly so, as within a month of having it someone ran a trolley down the side of it :(

Having said that, everyone gives his current car (a Boxster) extra space, even the chav community. So its not all bad...

I'd follow that one up if I were you. A assume by 'unsafe', he meant in the case of an accident, and if that is the case, I very seriously doubt it. Had your door been made out of composites (carbon fibre or similar), then yes, as they're only designed to take a single impact, and then need replacing, but I assume it's steel. It may be weakened, but only by a tiny, tiny amount, and most likely only superficially.

I'd highly recommend getting a 2nd opinion on that before paying if at all possible. To me it really does sound like he's taking you for a ride on that one.
