Saw something in my pariferal vision, looked round and there was a mouse sitting on my kitchen floor!
Shouted "christ!" and it ran away.
It was a tiny little soft looking brown thing. this looks about right:

I had one in my old place, bought a pair of simple black plastic traps, caught it overnight, that was the end of that lol

I'm tempted to say a mouse is not exactly a new edition to the computing world, but that sort of comment is best left to Clunk.
Humane traps are a load of rubbish, just get a normal trap or something, superglue the cheese (or biscuit) to it, and let them find it.
I think something Rube Goldberg is in order...
Well, I have been taunted my the little barsteward for weeks now, and by chance, I saw that the council do a free pest control service, so rang them up, they came the following day and put this stuff down that looks like purple seeds. They poured it down the back of the kitchen cupboards, under the floorboards upstairs, in the chimney...pretty much anywhere they can go where it is warm and dark.
2 days later and so far, no sign of the mouse! :D
P.S. the humane trap doesnt work, the various other self made traps didnt work either, and this mouse didnt like chocolate or peanut butter, or bread, or cheese. I think it was a vegan with a peanut allergy.

not seen any trace of him since.
I checked under the units, dishwasher and fridge, no signs of him ever being here in the first place (i.e. no droppings).
very odd.
If you've got a fitted kitchen then check behind the fitted fascias that are sometimes attached or in the box if the cupboards themselves as they are sneaky little ninja's and like to climb on the back of the cupboards where theres usually a small ledging.

A trap will cost you about a quid, bait it with chocolate or a bit of chocolate biscuit. Forget poison unless you want to experience the delightful odour of rotting mouse corpse. :)

Mine was a clever mouse, it knew about traps and turned its nose up at peanut butter and chocolate. The poison seems to have done the trick, and theres no smell yet :DQuote:

I've had to run round mine before now chasing the one's my housemates cat brings in through the catflap.
It doesn't eat them like a normal cat would. Instead it just sits in front of the fire and plays with them for hours.
I've caught them using my hands which is hard, but it's better than stomping on them and then cleaning mousebrains from the carpet.
