Certainly looks it to me, why do you doubt it?
I have no idea why but that picture looks photoshopped to me :/
wow intresting stuff there. thats huge,
there was something simalar near herre in hampshire nowhere near as big but its pretty cool
That's one freaking huge hole oO
Whoa shocking picture, tragic story. How do they repair that road damage I wonder...
how the hell did that happen? Its the sheer scale that gets me.
Did they privatise their water company?
its just the water that arrode away then one day the pressure becomes to deep and it all falls in.
That's very scary, just think that large areas of our country are over massive water depositis.
It was lucky more weren't killed!
zomg, an emergence hole!
LOCUST!
You beat me to it. I was gonna mention war of the worlds
war of the worlds the film sucked.
head and shoulders for the win (evolution reference, also a crap film ;))
It's real!
Damn thats scary, imaging falling down:surprised: :O_o1:
Is this a caption competition?!
The last pic...
'A large hole appeared today...police are looking into it'
:-p
W.
You have a hole with a 30 foot diameter and 300 foot deep... how much soil is in it?
NONE, IT IS A HOLE :p
i reckon your looking at a million tonnes lol thats a huge amount
think of digging a grave, i think a ton or something comes out of that
I wonder if all the leaking Thames Water pipes will lead to similar problems here...
Surely there are a lot more factors involved, such as the structure and materials under the surface? Otherwise we'd have rivers and lakes suddenly plummetting hundreds of feet into the ground all over the place! :surprised:
"And breaking news - Thames Water has implimented a hosepipe ban because of a giant hole in...."
;)
saw some video similar to the picture when i was in school in a geog lesson, where the ground underneath the towns had gone really weak and most had washed away beneath the surface
the next time the rivers built up a bit, all hell broke loose
scary stuff!
