I've always liked Dell monitors.. they seem reliable. Since the specs are almost identical (response time, dot pitch, even warranty length), then i'd go with the Dell and the extra 20 quid.

Plus.. a black edging looks sleeker when mounted

OcUK aren't a proper retail shop though (like currys.digital or maplin). - i'm assuming you're talking about Dell monitors..

I'd go for the Samsung - the only dells I would buy are the 2007 and 2407fpw. The eXXX are built using cheaper panels and have less connectivity (than the other dells), whereas Samsung are known to at least use decent panels in their screens

Actually I'd put money on it that the Exxx panel is using a Samsung panel given the identical specs. As for needing Dvi/etc this again is debatable. I have a e17" tft and a 1704fpt, fed vga and dvi respectively and I cant tell the difference at all, in detail and sharpness.

Ah fair enough, I was simply going by reputation That, and I've always liked the design of the Samsung monitors.

Dell aren't bad, but a few of their monitors have suffered from backlight bleed problems, (mate had 3 2004fpws before they gave up and sent him a 2405fpw), something I hadn't heard about with Samsungs.

On the otherhand, if they use the same panels, then it won't matter which you buy
