    DVI Splitter cable.

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these splitters. You can run two monitors off one DVI port.

How do you then choose which one you want to run as your primary desktop etc.

    TIA,
    Tom

As said, this just gives you the option of having the same output but on two different monitors.. simultaneously.

So your computer only believes there to be one and so you don't have the option of having a dual monitor setup.. using primary/secondary displays.

If you truly want multiple displays from dvi sockets then matrox do dual and triple head2go products which offer that.

I have seen these things on some of the Dell boxes at work. I think you need a dual link graphics card for it to work, or perhaps a special graphics card.

I think with those it's not a standard dvi port on the card. I have a Radeon 7000VE system which has a split cable but the port on the card has more connectors than a standard dvi port
