    City Link Help

    Hi guys,

im looking for a bit of advice on how to deal with city link in the morning. I placed an order with a company on the weekend who as agreed dispatched to me on Tuesday (20th) via City Links next working day service.

I checked this morning and the tracker shows that my goods arrived at the depot in the early hours of this morning, and then loaded onto a delivery van for delivery today. Great! So i booked a day off work and went about waiting for it to arrive.

Well its now 18:51 and still no sign, the tracker still shows that its on this van waiting for delivery - no sign of carded attempts and the like, so i really dont know what to do.

i've already wasted a days holiday which i feel hard done by, especially as i got nothing done as i was kicking around waiting for these incompetant b*stards to turn up, and i dont fancy paying another £25 for them to re-delivery on Saturday (im not available until then)

is there any point in me trying to get my money back on the delivery cost?

Wouldn't have thought so. Pretty sure the Citylink website will have a disclaimer over 'items loaded onto delivery vans are not guranteed to be delivered the same day.

Saying that, you did pay for next day delivery, so should be able to guilt the people you bought it from into refunding the difference between next day and standard.

Mate you should be able to pick up the parcel from the depot, if you want to just arrange it with them, by ringing them is best, as for delivery refund i doubt you will get it, unless the company where you purchased the items from gives you a refund.

Exactly the same thing happened to me with City Link.
Got an email, and text message from Scan, stating my delivery would be Wed, so I took the day off. Saw by the tracking that my parcel was put on the van early Wednesday morning, then nothing. The tracker after about 7 PM said "unable to deliver". Called the company the next morning, cos the CL office closes at 6, and was told that the if driver runs out of time during the delivery day, your package will stay on the van till the next day. But they couldn't answer when I asked if it was going to be delivered today (Thursday). As it turns out, it never turned up Thursday either, and I finaly got it Friday at 3PM. Three days taken off work for 1 delivery, and unable to go out in case I missed the delivery.
Admittedly it was a free delivery, but I'd rather pay full price than be jerked around like that.

I use the same City Link depot as you (Cardiff) and they are truly rubbish.

Twice i have ended up going to Cardiff to get the parcel from their depot myself :/
Ask for the cash back but i wouldnt be too hopeful.
