That would be good, but how does it determine if a picture is too big?
For instance a 1280x1024 res picture would be a nightmare on an 800x600 screen, but fine on my 1680x1050 screen....
The bit about quoted pictures is good though

An alternative would be to give out moderator privalages more widely. For example if I asked would you give me Mod privalages? I would promise to only use it to delete spam, and not for anything else.
Actually, I don't think I would be a good candidate for being that sort of mod, as I am only on the forum for an hour or so each day, but if hexus could get together a group of spam killing moderators (with strict instructions not to touch anything else). The spam problem we have could be even further suppressed.
Already done:
Q4 - 83.142.52.28:28004
CS:S - 83.142.52.28:27025
COD2 - 83.142.52.28:27960
UT2004 - 83.142.52.28:7777
Problem is, I don't know anything about getting mods and stuff put on any of them except CS:S.
So I guess my suggestion would be to have better promotion of the servers, and also to appoint people who play the game to admin the servers. I can remember a few times since we got the gaming servers over a year ago now when someone's suggested HEXUS should have a gaming server when there's already one available, but they just didn't know.
Picking up on the mod thing... there is definitely a lack of people around sometimes... I'm sitting here reading something that is definitely not suitable and there's no-one online.

I know exactly why you posted that.
The mods team does need some changes and it is something we are still looking at having recently made some changes - I say WE and I mean WE - not me, but WE.
Apologies have been made where applicable, but alas it seems thats not enough either.
Maybe we can get back to the original request rather that pulling in an issue that isn't in anyway applicable to the original request in the first post.
Thank you
Matt.

There is one thing that came up and yes i know its not a VB 3.6 change, but the one thing that i believe adds value to the whole hexus community is the companies you have here. The ones that seem to have the best respected forums on here, most useful and from what i can see doing a lot more business because of their links with Hexus have their Mods posting outside their own forums. (Scan and Corsair are the obvious examples)
I'd be interested to see more participation from the other companies on a more open basis. I mean I never even knew who Yoyotech were before they joined hexus, and while i do read their forums, the more members they actually converse with can only help their brand image. I'm not talking constantly going on about their brand, but this kind of post (http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=104690)
It is the content of the forums after all that make hexus great, boards are empty pieces of code without members posting, and on the whole Hexus is self regulated, not many times that I see spam sit about for much time.
That and Hexus.TV needs to be talked about more

maybe some new icons would be a nice update

From what i have seen since joining here is that the Scan and Corsair guys are the only real participants in the HEXUS community (Well played YellowBeard and the Scan fellas) . I had high hopes for YoYoTech but they keep themselves to themselves aswell.
The others that have 'space' on your site are really just watchers and are in it for the business and not the aftersales care (even though they seem to want to be looked at differently).
I dunno if you can comment Matt/Other Mods, but what criteria do companies need to meet to have a slot here? Do they pay or do they just have to 'talk the talk' rather than 'walk the walk'?

Smilies we will look into.
As for the Care Forums, you have to understand different companies have different approches to the way its used.
When Scan first started the difference was that they already had members of their staff here as private members (remember WildmonkeyUK ). This meant that the migration across the two (Care and standard) forums was already in existence.
For new companies joining its quite a intensive task at first, but over time I am sure they will venture outside to the other forums. In the case of YoYotech they have been very busy with store modifications etc, but I am sure over time they will venture to other sections of HEXUS too.

I value hexus partly for the (generally) impartial opinions, reviews and articles on here..but the more 'representitives' from companies that come on here the more likely that skewed information will be posted - whether intentionally or not.
With Scan I know things are slightly different because alot of the scan guys were posting here anyway, and I think thats great and the way it should happen - that a companies employees can start posting of their own accord and things naturally move forward as they become valued members of the community in their own right, regardless of which company they work for.
If we start inviting companies on here left right and centre though..I don't know it just seems a really bad idea, and ends up being a (transparant but) clever way of advertising/marketing.
