Hmm, can't say any really stick out. Overpriced and underwhelming in most cases. If I had to select one it would be the ps2. Probably my most used sony product.

Sony are just another of the "Brands" that I avoid like the plague. Overpriced because they have a name.

PS1+2 back when i had them, was a great console at the time, really not sure about the PS3 though, but i do enjoy the PSP (but i have to wear glasses to see the screen properly)

With any major company though, they try to set standards and sometimes these fail miserably, notably Betamax, MiniDisc etc, and i don't buy things just because they have the Sony name on them, I buy them based on personal opinion, experience and reviews from trusted sources.

EG : i just bought an Apple product - i've sold Macs in the past, i don't like them, don't like the software, don't like the lack of upgradeability, especially don't like the price - i adore my new 30Gb Ipod.

So, whats peoples favourite product from a company they don't generally like, for whatever reasons?(Windows excluded please, but not Microsoft)

Hey there new user.

I wouldn't say anyone of their products is a favourite, probably have to say the PS1, my first console and great fun for the games.

Next Walkman for tapes.

But overall they tend to be overpriced with often better performing rivals. They also attract alot of fanboys for the brand in general like for TVs as well as the PS3. The VAIO product range is over priced, under specced and really just a middle performing range, there is alot better out there.

you're kidding, right? the design of the PSP is TERRIBLE.

1. "battery low" flashing light cannot be seen when playing console, as thumb rests above it. so your game cuts out without warning. yay
2. buttons have differing tactile response (square especially)
3. load times are dire
4. the thumb stick is awful, the d-pad is worse

there are some good games, but that's in spite of the hardware, not thanks to it

i'm giving you EXTREME benefit of the doubt and assuming you're not one of sony's horde of forum-based guerilla advertisers. that and i want to associate words like "terrible" with "psp" in google

I might get one of their G-series laptop this summer.
The Sony SA-5000 headphones are pretty nice. Not my absolute favorite, but it shames their lower end stuff. But I'd really like to try though, is the Sony R10 (probably won't get the chance, but eh ).
