I have a cousin that is a bit of a rebel etc. She used to take bottles of beer from the fridge and has been known to take a bottle of vodka from her sisters room.

She is 16 now and left school. She is now allowed a few bottles of beer at weekends etc. and is actually drinking less because there isn't the thrill of doing something she isn't allowed. She acts more reponsibly so she gets more respect from others and is given more lee way.

If my family or anyone in authority tried to bad her from drinking (or anything else for that matter) she would be far more likely to rebel against it. I have a few other family members that were exactly the same in years gone by.

There was quite an interesting quote about that in the film Traffic. The Teenage daughter of the anti drug politician said that at her age, it was easier to get Pot than alcohol, so was it any supprise that most people in her age group smoked it. In most parts of the USA, it is a crime to give alcohol to a minor, even as a parent in your own home. I don't think that is healthy.

Well drinking fine but they would have abit id health problems, they will get even more aggressive. I know a couple of teenagers who pay there parents for the drink. Ohh yes if they cannot get it they would just got a steal it. But then its the parents job to educate there kids why its not good to get drunk. banning drink would only want them to have more so they look "cool"
