    Quick question

    I apologise if the answer if obvious to everyone except me - but why is the hexus forums member list disabled?
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Privacy reasons, I think. Mods and admins can see it, iirc. Same with members online list at the forum index.

    Privacy? I thought invisible mode was for that!

    I like looking at stuff like the members list, lol.

    At the site I'm a mod for, everybody can see them, but mods can see those who are "invisible" also.

    No, not privacy. It's to prevent the server from being killed by one or two requests for that page. Think about it - over 2000 members, and the server has to do processing on that number - things'd get quite intense in that machine.

    i dont think it'd take much processing power to bring the list up - granted it depends on the database setup but its hardly a big task for the sort of servers hexus probably run
    hughlunnon@yahoo.com | I have sigs turned off..

    Hmm, it seems it is indeed due to privacy concerns. Though you can still go through people's profiles, so I don't see how it helps.

    Apologies, though. I could have sworn I read somewhere here that it was to stop the server from receiving additional stress.
