Anyone know what this thing is? I found it in the garden

thats a CD tub btw so you get an idea of the size, its about 5mm long

its a shell with an insect inside, it rolls and jumps impressively, looks like its been trying to bash out of the shell. Its been doing it for a whole day now.

it can jump a good ~5cm, but whats inside?
