    Do you mean doormen ?

And surely it would depend on the doorman in question, they aint all the same.

Got a mate whose a doorman.
Runs his own company and works very closely with the police.

He's not had much trouble in a long time - they work on early prevention rather than brute force.

I used to do a bit of doorwork, in the main people are stupid, ignorant and arrogant when they go out.

Only ever had one serious incident, when i ended up breaking a blokes arm with my maglite.

Just like Policemen I reckon...some good some bad.

I think 10-15 year ago when I were a lad they were generally paid thugs who enjoyed a fight. Or rather the nightclub ones were generally this the pubs ones were just hard men.

Now generally the nicer the establishment the more professional the door person.

But I reckon drunk people aren't the most caring and respectful expecially when the Door people are dressed up in dicky bows and trying to calm things down.

    As popular as traffic wardens?

    Hey..................that only happened once...........

nah unless it was something reasonably extreme id never start on em, i respect the fact that they're paid to stop fights, keep out trouble makers etc and are in all likely hood gonna be harder than a coffin nail.

I've watched people try it, and its obvious how its gonna end really, either your gonna win and get in the back of a police car or loose and get in the back of an abulance.

Most of them are good as gold.
At a stag doo last year and the groom tobe was in a right state.
at the end of the night the bouncers were telling everyone to MAKE YOUR WAY OUT NOW!
When the groom just wanted to go for a pee.
This bouncer could see is was strugging to help me old mate to the wash room, when he said I'LL Help. Well my old mate pissed all over the place and on the bouncers shoes...........
The bouncer neaver said a word..... Top Bloke.
