No, I honestly thought the first series worked fine. I enjoyed it, haven't watched one since (saw about 2 episodes of number 2 and realised what was happening)

100% agree with you Bazzlad, 1st series was riveting, interesting how different personalities clashed/gelled in a confined enviroment.

    After that, no thankyou.

P.S. (prolly never live this down) It was the Irish bloke who got the semi.....

I was intrigued with the first couple of BB's and admit to watching one the year before last (stuck living on my own for the summer with only a TV for company :/) but yeah, I think its pretty pants now. Quite an obvious exploit of people a little bit out there.

However, its one that makes money, and while it makes money it will stay (I read today that it accounts for 15% of channel 4's income, thats insane). There are millions of people who do watch it though and regardless of how much I agree with Bazz (100% btw) there are millions who will disagree.

p.s. I wouldnt be suprised if i start watching it towards the end too : (

It seems that most people enjoy/get fascinated by one series of Big brother. The first series I saw bits of was the one with Jade Goody in!
It was like slowing down to look at an accident. Started watching the one after, took seconds to get bored.

Is Big Brother still going on then!

Theres a reason that channels other than C4 exist =)

BigBrother is a perfect example of a program made for the general masses..I would try to liken it to the 'stories' and 'images' made for the proles in 1984 but I imagine i'd get flamed for that hehe..

It doesn't work so well because it's so scripted now, people go in and have to pretend to be someone there not.

A workmate of my partner actually got an offer to appear this year but when he heard all the things he had to do he turned it down. He was basically just going to act.
Which kind of takes the meaning out of it.

The first series didn't seem scripted but it has got worse as it goes on, either way it's defintly lost it's edge.

There's always at least one person (usually many) that you would take pleasure in punching relentlesly...

Nikki last year springs to mind. I'd never have been able to keep my temper in the BB house last year. And Jade... what a stupid cow!

    My System: Coolermaster Centurion 5 (black) case, Intel E6750 Core2Duo, Tagan Easy-Con 530W, Asus P5B Deluxe WIFI, OCZ 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 CL 4-4-4-15 PLATINUM XTC, Samsung SpinPoint 200Gb SATA2 / 2 x Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200Gb SATA, 256Mb Sapphire ATI PCI-E X1950PRO, Creative X-Fi Xtreme 7.1, 19" Daewoo W9ZQ Black Widescreen TFT, 4Mb Virgin Cable Broadband (formerly Blueyonder) with Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G and DD-WRT firmware.
