Has anyone ever crossed the channel on one? (with a couple of jerry cans or something)

I doubt anyone has ever crossed the channel on one tank or even five or six. Tanks don't generally float.

awesome
its just that me and a friend were discussing it, cause we were standing in bournemouth looking at isle of wight (i think) and i thought it would be great if we could rent some jet skis and go staright across to there in a group
but i have no idea what rules/laws apply on the sea as to that kind of thing
It depends if its on a treadmill or not.
Supertanker jetski... best of luck...
Don't whatever you do wear England football shirts while going towards France at breakneck speeds.
History shows that they'll just think your invading and surrender
bear in mind that drowning isn't much fun, weather changes a lot, and the English channel is full of flotsam and jetsam (sp?) so if you hit a submerged barrel, tree, etc you'r coming off a long way from home.
You need a boat as back up.
I beg you.... please take the sea more seriously. It's fickle, and people die at sea. Even in Estuary mouth's, let alone in the Solent.

My old man and I own a small fishing boat. 3 people job. We fish from Salcombe in Devon and will go out as far as the line I've drawn on the left picture. TO get from the blue point to the inland blue point at the Estuary mouth, in a very quick fishing boat, (55hp, and it lifts and planes at speed) ....well thats the furthest we go and know we can get back if the fog comes in of the waether cuts up. It takes about 7 minutes.
Bournemouth to Isle of Wight....double to treble distance? It'll be choppier too...no protection.
I think thats a risky thing....presuming you do it flat out, and you all make it safely...happy days.
One of you comes off.....? You aint easy to find on Jetskis.....you wont show from the shore unless someone uses proper lenses or a helicopter.
I sound like an old man......but I've been out there a lot...its lovely...it calm...its stunning and sunny...and then you get hurt and you die
