yeah i agree with that last comment, people at work are only just starting to realise (after 3 months) to leave me alone atleast until 10am unless they are bringing coffee

chees guys im getting a little fed up i was going to wait. but the the fact theyve taken the money is annoying me. ive just checked and the local branch has 3 in stock so im going to call cust services back and try and get them to honour the price and ill drive over and collect them
I take Saracen's point about when you resort to "threats" though I don't agree with his "don't do it until you have no option" but my main point is: I thought there was some sort of regulations about taking money too quickly and one month in advance is really bad. It would be simple to get a refund but that is not the object of the exercise. So perhaps a word to Trading Standards about what appears to be sharp practice on behalf of PC World wouldn't go amiss even if you didn't want them to take any action straight away.
I'm sure their T&Cs don't say that they can take your money up to five and six weeks in advance of them fulfilling their contract.
PC world are AWFUL I cannot stand them, I took a mobo back to them and I was having tons of incompatability problems and the guy is like. "so whats the fault" and kept saying it until I got so annoyed he had no choice but to give me my money back.Originally Posted by psalliss

Pick of the 'sale table' at my local PCW....
12*DVD ROM , CREATIVE - £69.97!
LMAO
Trouble is some poor punter might be sold it as a bargain.
ok spoke to them again on friday, and then chap spoke to head office and delivery is going to be this week sometime. so they say.
I actually had a heated debate with two assistants in my local store who refused to believe that there was such a thing as a water cooling for PC's.
It could so easily be a cool shop, if they employed a few 'enthusiasts' and/or people who knew what the hell they were talking about, (+ reasonable prices). Whilst I dont want to tar all their employees with the same brush, I have frequented both the Ipswich & Colchester branches & found the assistants I spoke to to be utterly clueless.
Shame.
I daresay they don't pay their staff top Dollar or if they do it'll be all about margins, profits and targets.
There is also bound to be not enough people who are "geekish**" about computers as we are.
Also PCworld, Currys, Dixons all generally suck when it comes to the majority of staff knowing about the stores core products.
Try going into Dixons or Currys and getting advice on Hi-Fi's....
well ive just recieved an email saying that they have been despatched and according to the parcel number. they are out for deilivery today. we shall see, it looks like that last phone call worked as i was a little more pushy on that one.
