I take Saracen's point about when you resort to "threats" though I don't agree with his "don't do it until you have no option" but my main point is: I thought there was some sort of regulations about taking money too quickly and one month in advance is really bad. It would be simple to get a refund but that is not the object of the exercise. So perhaps a word to Trading Standards about what appears to be sharp practice on behalf of PC World wouldn't go amiss even if you didn't want them to take any action straight away.

I'm sure their T&Cs don't say that they can take your money up to five and six weeks in advance of them fulfilling their contract.

PC world are AWFUL I cannot stand them, I took a mobo back to them and I was having tons of incompatability problems and the guy is like. "so whats the fault" and kept saying it until I got so annoyed he had no choice but to give me my money back.

I was under their 28 day refund crap too!

I actually had a heated debate with two assistants in my local store who refused to believe that there was such a thing as a water cooling for PC's.
It could so easily be a cool shop, if they employed a few 'enthusiasts' and/or people who knew what the hell they were talking about, (+ reasonable prices). Whilst I dont want to tar all their employees with the same brush, I have frequented both the Ipswich & Colchester branches & found the assistants I spoke to to be utterly clueless.
    Shame.

I daresay they don't pay their staff top Dollar or if they do it'll be all about margins, profits and targets.
There is also bound to be not enough people who are "geekish**" about computers as we are.
Also PCworld, Currys, Dixons all generally suck when it comes to the majority of staff knowing about the stores core products.
Try going into Dixons or Currys and getting advice on Hi-Fi's....
