    Exams/Studying

Is it just me or is there anyone else finding it really difficult to get (back) into the way of studying etc? I have my first exam next tuesday and then 4 others over the course of the following 2 weeks, but i just cant motivate myself to study at all! I know i have to cos i know i dont know ANYTHING for them, but for some reason the idea of failing my exams really isnt enough to get me to study!

anyone else feel like this or has anyone got any tips?

Think of the extra money when you get your first! How much more will it be than if you get a 'pass'?

Come on lass, get yer finger out and get to work!

I've got a few assignments that have to be in this month (3 of them + a presentation for next, and one at the end of the month). I have to agree, though - I'm really finding it hard to get my head down and finish them. I managed to force myself to do some work yesterday, but I kept taking cigarette breaks just to try and break up the work.

People say working to schedules helps, but that would just annoy me, and I know that I wouldn't stick to it. I think the pressure of having to do something for a deadline usually motivates me... like.. 3 days before the deadline, other than that - no ta :/

see thats the thing, i just forced myself to sit down and do *SOME* work for an hour, but it just daunts me how much i've got to get through. Yes, i know i should have started ages ago, and yes i know i always leave everything to the last minute then panic about it, but i never learn!

I also dont know how to study effectively. Like i'll just end up minlessly copying out screeds of notes from lectures which a) dont make sense and b) i end up not taking in cos all i'm doing is copying out the words instead of reading it. *sigh* i'm doooooooooomed!

i had an exam on monday, which i failed spectacularly, so i gotto do it again tomorrow. i realised today i got a computin exam in about 2 weeks which i ain't revised for, and a biology one about the same time, as well as biology practical coursework to sort out. the only problem is i can't get back into working now after xmas, as i spent the whole time wasted (thus the failing of my bio exam) and can't be bothered to do anything now. ah well, i may have to do summat soon, as i spose its for the best. peace.

Exactly i have got 4 exams over the next 2/3 week 2 of which are next week. And i haven't revised at all, ive done little bits here and there at college but to be quite honest i can't be bothered doing it. Im normally the sort of person who leaves homework and essay's etc to the last day then finishing it and thats how ive always been.

don't have any tips for motivation, even the night before a-levels were often not enough for me to get a book out, and at uni i'm worse

studying though, nothing, absolultely nothing is more effective then doing questions, it forces you to think, which helps you absorb information far better than just reading through notes/books and is also considerably less monotonous, and you're practicing the exact thing you're going to have to be doing in the exam. i seem to remember that you were doing a science subject? chemistry? i guess my comments apply slightly different to art based subjects, but if you are doing a science based one, find past papers, tutorial questions, questions out the back of text books. don't give up on ones you find difficult, spend the time looking up and working out the answer, it might feel as though you aren't covering as much ground as you would by reading, but it will pay off better in the exam.

i've got 2 technical reports due and 4 exams to do in 2 weeks time. hopefully i can take some of my own advice for them

    goodluck

Yea!! Christmas is a killer, you get 2 weeks after a 12 week slog and then you try to get back into it and you cant. That's why i do so much better in summer exams cause it rolls right off the 2nd semester. I find past papers are the best bet - just do loads and loads of questions, that way you learn how to answer and learn the material.

Oh well, 6 exmas in 4 days.. should be fun, roll on the 20th.
I dont like sig pics so i turn off sigs Which doesnt help when i dont know what ive written here! DOH!
