Forum upgrade completed

I have completed the upgrades of the forum today and you should hopefully see some speed improvement as well as some new features.

We have a couple of new things worth mentioning, there is a new thanks system rolling out across the site that will allow you to instantly thank a person if they help you resolve a problem of find them a bargain. Hopefully you will find this addition useful.

There is also Xbox 360 integration in your profile, just fill in the tag in your profile options and you will see a small logo appear under your name on the left, linking straight through to your profile on xbox.com.

Next up is the new improved PM system, this is a modification done to allow you to be able to access key parts of the user panel and reduce server load. That little drop down on the UserCP saves a pile of queries, and to make up for the fact you have to click twice we have implemented a new preview system in the PM inbox, you should be able to see the first couple of lines without actually going into the message.

We have also simplified the forum names as well as reducing and combining a few forums here and there, we will be looking at this again in the next couple of days as things settle down. As you will have no doubt noticed we also have a new skin that we will be rollling out to all forums. Its designed to be 'more compact and thinner' resulting in easier browsing and quicker access.

PLEASE be aware, there are new skins to roll out across the site, so access to these new features will be patchy to begin with, but within the next 24 hours everything will be back to normal. We did this so you can still surf the commmunity as normal whilst i work in the background

Please don't report errornous buttons etc, I know there are some but i am working on them.

We have changed the fonts and also made alot of effort to reduce wasted verticle screen estate, the forums should be alot easier to read on portable devices.

This will allow us to give a proper look at mobile browsing in the near future.

That is definitely a good thing

(or a bad thing, depending if you are on t-mobile or not )

EDIT: things seem a lot sprightlier too. Are the skins different to aid rendering or is it just the server being quicker?
