Talking Trash in iphone with thy hammer

got off DV Doctor. didn't see it here, tho might have been slow. I like the logic of the story:

    >>>
The story goes something like this. People que for 4 days outside a US apple store to buy an iphone for $600 plus $60/month AT&T phone deal, they then run home and smash the iphone with a hammer and ironically a precision screwdriver used as a chisel. The aim apparently is to find out which companies supplied the components. This is a closley gaurded apple secret. Armed with this information they then buy shares in these companies before they rocket. I guess it's called sledghammer trading.

    :S

seriously how much are they investing, the contracts i heard are 18month + only....

    1680 to be made.?

How many shares they going to buy, how much are htey hoping they would rise, you could guess this information anyway if your not dumb, and how much do they think the companies will rise.

    its all bollocks imo.

But they wouldn't get the kudos from the rabid anti-iPhone fanboys on youtube.

    Blast, foiled.

Back onto the video for a second, for such a fairly fragile phone, it took those two pasty fellows far too long to break into it with a goddamn hammer. Maybe they need to spend some time strengthening the rest of their arms and not just their wrists.

Edit: I suppose it doesn't help when you use a screw

I absolutely detest people like that. They have zero respect and appreciation for technology and are completely ignorant to the inner workings of such a product, plus they are utterly devoid and lacking in any knowledge as to the efforts that go into making and selling such a product.

No, I am not an iPhone fan, I just can't work out why and how people can do things like that, especially to a brand new device that they (I assume) spent hundreds of dollars on. They need to grow up.

Agree entirely. Just as bad as the idiots who smashed Wii/PS3/360's. Im not an iphone fan myself, but the anti fan boy apple haters are just as bad, if not worse, than the apple product coveting fanboys.

I think it's entertainment. And by the looks of it, to date, almost 300,000 people agree with me.

    Same goes for destroying consoles.

Of course, the next step is to write off a Bugatti Veyron for click throughs....

This article http://www.anandtech.com/printarticle.aspx?i=3026 includes quite a bit of discussion on who makes the chips. Flash memory by Samsung, The processor is a custom Arm, again probably made by Samsung. No smashing necessary,

Now if they wanted to make a bit of cash, surely posting a video of them smashing an Iphone on a web page other than Youtube, and then filling that page with adverts would be a tactic? Don't know how much traffic you'd need to generate to get your investment back.
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

Wasn't there an anti-iPhone thread on here the other day? Someone moaning that someone they didn't know was excited to have one, or just moaning about the phone, or just moanin? Or was it Knox moaning about the Spice Girls even though he doesn't listen to them?

Or was it someone else moaning about something they have no interest in?

I forget now. All the threads are starting to seem the same.
