    SCAMMED on ebay---- graphics cards

    http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayIS...ab=AllFeedback

so i got scammed for £160 on ebay, its a long story but i really cant believe this has happened, he has sold loads of graphics cards before and has loads of feedback.

i have added up all the buyers and its around 97, hopefully not all payed but if they did its looking like 10s of thousands! .

i cant believe he did this with graphics cards though, i heard of car scams but this is new!.

Good luck with getting that back, I wouldnt hold your breath though.

You are probably better off seeing what your bank say.

And the lesson learned today kids?

    Buy from Scan.co.uk!

In all seriousness, it looks like the most you'll be able to do is report to ebay, contact the police (what little they can do) and as Clunk said, talk to your bank. If you paid via PayPal, can you claim under buyer protection?

One of the feedback comments for that seller states that the account was hijacked/stolen, and the commenter looks pretty reliable.

    I bought a batch of 10 hard drives from a seller who had over 7000+ positive feedback @ 100% . . .

Didn't see the light of day, out of pocket and not returned.... He was selling 500, and looks like (from my perspective, he sold mostly computer components and had bona fide feedback) he worked all that way for feedback just to do a runner

It's a gamble, but I've saved way more money from ebay in total than going to shops (mainly counting clothing and items which I cannot justify rrp, not technological items)

With such a large amount of money (in total) you could get the police interested. They only ever bother looking into anything if its over the thousand pound mark ... probably higher now.

What gets me about Ebay is I saw a fake seller. I back tracked their sales and cross referenced 40 accounts that been hijacked. Reported them before anyone had bought anything and Ebay left it up. Dozens got done for thousand and thousands. I don't think Ebay could care less. Its not the first time either, so far Ive seen it happen three times.

Most of the shill accounts are still open, hopefully returned to the original owners. Whats funny some of the people stolen from still give positive feed back, lol.

This happened to me a while ago. Graphics card scam whereby the account was hijacked as were all the accounts of people giving poistive feedbac about 90 in total. Ebay did nothing about it even after the police investigated. I won't use ebay at all. The only thing you can do is threaten them with legal action using a very strongly worded email. The gits who got me also got about 20 of us. I spent a while in contact with one bloke and he did manage to get a full refund from ebay after threatening court action.

Don't take their paypal money. Keep on at them. It will cost them more to go to court than pay up. Ebay is a scammer's paradise because ebay fail to police their sute even after receiving lots of evidence of hijacked accounts. I hope you get your money back.

Police don't deal with cc and indentidy fraud now, the banks have to pass it on, and it may be the same with eBay.

    this is really bad,

ebay have removed all the auctions so now nobody can contact each other or even have proof that they bought anything!.

there is a forum setup here:
    http://s16aabebayscammer.myfastforum.org/forum1.php

i honestly think we aint gonna let it drop, we are in constant contact with each other about this, i hope we can hit ebay hard.

it disgusts me that they can host these auctions and take money from it, yet they dont hold any responsibility for what happens!.

you know once i was selling my gf's genuine LV bag and they removed it stating it was fake, yet 100s of obviously fake ones at stupid low prices were still on the site!.

Ebay are just going to ignore you or brickwall whatever you want to do with them. Ebay and paypal are supremely unhelpful.

Not even Indian call centres can be as unhelpful as these two (even if they tried).

I got my graghics card from ebay but since herd many bad stories from there so would be worried about getting any more expencive items from there.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you pay, as with papal they should just give you your money back and remove it from his account.
Don't let it drop though and best of luck!
