    Thumbs up Small Pet!

I really want a small pet...not a dog or a cat! Or fish!

Does anyone have a small pet? like a rat? ferret? Chinchilla?

Which is the best...i would only want one...so if they like being in pairs or groups they wouldnt really suit lol

    How about an iguana?

Chinchillas do not do well on their own.

Rats are intelligent and reasonably clean.

Ferrets smell. And I mean SMELL.

I've had ratties twice before... and they're great... they're very inquisitive and lovely little things.

Only thing is that rats need to be kept in pairs or they need a LOT of handling / attention or they get bored.

A pet cheese should be added to the poll.

    Cheese makes a great pet.

Rats Rats Rats , great fun, highly intelligent . If you keep one it is easier to tame than several . Very clean , not too expensive . Will even do tricks if you play with it enough! Make sure you get a young one that has been handled , as older ones can be a bit nippy if they haven't been handle much. Only problem you might have is getting someone to look after it if you go on holiday !
Chinchillas are pretty but very boring , they like to hide away and sleep most of the day and don't do much when awake . Costs for set up more expensive and need special sand to bathe in .
Ferrets , again good fun , need a hutch for those though. If keeping a male he needs to be castrated. Higher chance of getting cancer, bit smelly and one hell of a bite !

Herman for a Hermit Crab (youngsters do a search.)

I like Clunk's idea, always good if you have the option to eat your pet if it gets boring of course! Plus think of what you'll save on bedding.

I'm vaguely put off rats by the tales of them having no bladder and leaving a trail of wee behind them. Not sure if it's true, but that's what I've heard. Other than that, cute little vermin. Ferrets do smell, really smell. All three options are good though. I don't buy pets any more, I get too upset when they die.

I think a rat would be the best option really! I might get a young one, and train it to do tricks for me...then i will buy it a nice little cage but hmm what should it be called!
