toeclips are evil! SPuDs aint much better either! i prefer my nice dmr rip-offs and skate shoes, more than good enuff for me. if its £60 to enter, i can't be affordin that! is it 12 mile a lap or summat? i recon Team Hexus could clock up at least 5 laps

if war is the answer, then we are asking the wrong question

Laps were about 10 miles last year. Date was some time in June.

Entry forms come out end of Feb - If you want to enter team event you have to be QUICK (event normally books out within a week).

    Piccy:

No mocking of the lycra - and elmo: it's not to go in the gallery

Solo doesn't book out so quickly.

I don't remember what we paid each last year I don't remember it being as expensive as 60

Spuds are ok once you get used to them; first race I did on spuds was the first time I'd ridden in the things (I'd set the pedals and shoes up the night before). Didn't put loctite on the screws and by the end of the race I permanently attached to the bike

Finished the race and had to fall over sideways like they do in cartoons

hehehehe, skinny xc whippet! we should do a hexus ride sometime metinks, minus lycra! hehe. i recon wiffle would look fetching in lycra when he;s out riding metinks.

yeh, jeans, t-shirt, baseball cap/beanie (to keep me hair out my eyes) and Etnies for me. i did have some gloves too, but they disintegrated. its a lot more comfy to ride in that than lycra IMO

When you're in the saddle for more than a few hours the padding in the shorts helps protect the nether regions of one's anatomy (wouldn't want the missus complaining now would we )

If I'm out for a short ride it's definitely baggies.

I'd love to try it, but I'm probably not available....

For the record - this is me shortly before I fell off

Marin Wolf Ridge - Y2K model. Stil goin strong, although it's got a 24seven handlebar & 50mm stem on now... oh yeah and it's on it's 3rd set of BB, cranks and cassette

Before my old speedo died - I'd done about 2000 miles on it. Got a new one last May and done about 600 on it so far....
