    So We Are Not Eating Pills For Dinner and Going About In Flying Cars...

    But what one bit of tech says 'teh future' to you? What would most make a Victorians jaw drop?

    For me, its this little beauty:

    The Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber.

    $2billion yanky dollars worth of kit, nuclear bombed up to the eye balls, unlimited range (with mid air refuel), and, well, it looks like an alien space fighter thing.

    Even on the ground, it could be a still from Independence Day.

    Pretty amazing really. If I was going to go back in time and pretend I was an alien to scare the **** out of some olden days people, I'd land in a B-2.

    So, what says 'ooooh its all shiny and from the future' to you?

    EDIT - This counts as an F-117 Nighthawk and an SR-71 BlackBird as well btw, to avoid a 'which plane is the sickest looking' type thread.

    Im slightly worried that 'teh future' for you revolves around dropping nukes on people

    I'll have to have a think on this one...not an easy question

    Well, assuming we don't die in a flood or get foot and mouthed to death, I'd say WWIII has a pretty good chance of finishing us off, should it ever kick off.

    Think on Adey boy... just don't say the CGI from the new Transformers movie.

    Thats pretty old though, whats the future, is people actually voting

    On a more OT note, Pretty much anything we do now would be amazing to a victorian. Microwaves, cars, any plane. I really cant think of anyting that wouldnt be genuinely amazing. Although if i had to pick one thing I'd probably say either an electric car, or a mobile phone.

    Job done!
    Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
    Enwrought with golden and silver light,
    The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
    Of night and light and the half-light,
    I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
    Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.

    How about taking a 103" plasma and some HD content to show some of the pioneers of TV?

    would probably say it was very impressive, and as they had been dabbling in cinematography and colour photographs they could see how an item like that would come about
