Of course its a disaster. It is the English way - we invent something, then lose at it.
Painful but true...
Its the oval wicket. Quite fast and very even. Nowt for the bowlers. And when India's batsmen are not failing in an amazing fashion, they really tuck in. This could be a boring match unless England pull out one of their amazing collapses...
Not around too often!
*Yawns* Did someone say cricket ?
Cricket is the best sport in the world its just really hard to understand.
The oval pitch is like a road and the India batsman will make a huge amount or runs, we 'should' as well.
It will be a draw unless the curse of the English shows.![]()

The curse of the English
Hmm. I might head down there tomorrow afternoon and catch the end. It's just down the road for me and one can easily nab tickets off people leaving. Staff are usually quite nice about it too.
India are in a great position after today, but as menthel said, I'm not holding out for anything too exciting. Methinks that despite the runs being plenty, the commentators will find themselves drifting on to the subject of gas holders. : )
Gotta remember that we are playing with 3 secondary bowlers. If Hoggard, Jones, Flintoff and Harmison were fit then we would have had a better choice in our selection. Even if Flintoff had been available (and Bell dropped) it would have given us another string to our bow.
We only drew the 1st test due to the poor weather otherwise there was plenty of time to get that last wicket.
2nd test was all about winning the toss and putting the other side in. India would have struggled just the same if they had had to bat in those conditions.
3rd test. Vital to win the toss. Oval is a always a nice flat batting pitch and I expect the Indian openers were relishing the chance to get runs. Couple that with some mediocre bowling in the first session and we will struggle.
